Nicaragua is a treasure trove of natural wonders, with its active volcanoes being the most awe-inspiring. Among them, the Masaya Volcano stands out, continuously emitting clouds of smoke from its collapsed crater. Just an hour away from the Managua Backpackers Inn, the Masaya Volcano Night Tour is an adventure you can’t miss.

What to Expect on the Masaya Volcano Night Tour

The Masaya Volcano National Park is well-maintained, with clearly marked trails that take you through ancient lava flows. As you traverse this stark landscape, you’ll encounter unique flora and fauna that have made this barren environment their home.

Safety Tips for Your Night Tour

Before you ascend to the crater, make sure to visit the visitor center to understand the risks posed by the volcano’s constant gas emissions. Visitors are allowed near the crater for only 10 to 20 minutes due to this risk. But don’t worry, that’s plenty of time to witness the red molten lava lake at the bottom of the crater – a sight you’ll never forget.

Costs and Booking the Masaya Volcano Night Tour

For detailed information about our fees, please contact us via Whatsapp (+505-8480-0600) or email. Admission fees to the park are 100 Cordobas (approximately USD3) during the day and USD10 per person at night. We recommend the night tour for the best photos of the lava lake!

Hi, Yes, this is an active volcano. It has a very large lake of lava which is easily visible in the evening, for that reason we recommend a night tour. All the best, Michael
