Hi, thanks for your post. Could you explain the difference between the Terminal Mayoreo and the Terminal de la Costa Caribe? I’ve found other sites saying that I should use the Terminal de la Costa Caribe to get to Bluefields. Also, I’ve heard other people say that the journey is made via chicken bus but you’ve mentioned an air-conditioned one. Are both available? Thank you

Hi Madeleine, the “mayoreo” terminal is located in the mercado mayoreo (Mayoreo Market), which is located in the east end of Managua. It’s the name of the market where the bus terminal is lcoated. The “terminal de la costa caribe” is the area of the bus terminal where the busses arrive and depart for the carribean coast. When you look at a list of the departure times, you’ll notice that different departure times are covered by different companies. Each little company has its own busses and some are better than others. I’m not sure which one is best, but I would suggest asking them at the terminal itself to see which bus line might offer the best amenities.
